So while everyone else is out there writing their post-eps, I’m writing about another time Castle was Beckett’s plus one and all the sex that ensued

shimmeryshine requested Castle and Beckett at the Heat Wave premiere with the caveat: UNABASHEDLY ASKING FOR SNEAKY PORN IF YOU CAN MAKE IT WORK. And so I wrotethis. (Why yes, I am vaguely shifting the blame ♥.)

(Or at Livejournal, if you prefer.)

The requisite holiday fic, written for stainedwithink. She requested over-enthusiastic-about-Christmas Castle and eye-rolling Beckett. And then I wrote her this instead. In which it’s the holidays after the end of a hard year at the 12th and things are looking up.

She does, after all, have a longstanding love affair with his imagination, especially this particular facet of it.

(It’s not my fault. You saw the episode. This clearly had to happen. In my own defense, it’s practically canon now. Post-ep for cuffed.)

Guys I’m actually behind and I didn’t watch the promo so this might have missed the point quite a lot (actually I kind of think I probably shouldn’t have flew at this quite so enthusiastically without seeing it) but you know. I saw people talking about it and PTSD and mental illness and all the things they were hoping for in the episode, which kind of amounted to ‘Castle comforts Beckett’ and something just raged inside of me and I was like, no, this is not about that. And so I wrote this. [Trigger warning: discusses mental illness and there’s a briefly glancing mention of suicide/self-harm.]

where echoes come to rest |R for themes|~ 3 300 words

Beckett gives Castle another piece of the back-story.

We Want To Live Like Trees  → an AU season four.
After the events of Knockout, Castle and Beckett stumble towards something new, but the weight of the past threatens not only their newfound understanding, but also their lives. As the conspiracy begins to unravel around them, Beckett realises there are some stands we have to make alone.
Alternative (more crack-tastic) summary: A flimsy excuse to write Kate Beckett - Action Movie Hero.
Read it: on fanfiction.net or on livejournal.Rated R for sex and some violence.
(Note: the text on the graphic and the title is taken from Twenty One Love Poems by Adrienne Rich which is amazingly beautiful and you should read it.)
